With just five minutes and two items, you can create these simple doll hangars to display all your favorite doll dresses and outfits.

Doll Hangars

My Vision

As my girls grew older, I had this vision of purchasing a doll wardrobe for all their pretty doll dresses. Wouldn’t it be ideal to have a place to store their dolls and accessories neatly and beautifully too?

I found a cute wardrobe second hand through Facebook Marketplace. It is perfect with shelves tall enough for dolls in their stands, drawers for accessories, and most importantly a hangar bar.  Do my girls keep it the clean and organized I imagined?  No.  Of course not, but for the sake of my own vision, I needed to find some hangars. Many doll hangars are made for miniature doll size wardrobes with miniature hangar hooks and bars. Unfortunatly, I needed hangars that would fit on the standard size rod yet still be small enough to fit inside little dresses and shirts.

I scoured the internet and found some adorable little hangars on Etsy. However, the price tag was not so adorable. It definitely put them high above anything I had ever spent on a hangar ever. (These hangars are just for dolls after all). Thankfully, I came across this idea which was not only more affordable, but allowed me to repurpose something I already had in my home.

The Solution

All you need to make these DIY Doll Hangars are baby hangars and a strong pair of scissors or shears.

Since my children continue to grow, despite my efforts to stop them, we no longer needed all the baby hangars in the closet. I prefer to hang clothes, and had 3 kids under 4 (4 kids under 4 at one point with foster kids) our baby hangar collection was, shall we say, adequate for this project.

However, if you don’t have extra hangars around your house, you can easily pick a 10 or 12 pack up for around under $2 at your local big box store.

That’s it. Wasn’t that easy?

Follow up by placing the hangar through the neck opening of your dolls clothes and organize those pretty dresses, shirts, and robes to your hearts content.

Don’t forget to pin in for later!
