Grandma’s Sour Cream Dill Dip

A sour cream dill dip recipe straight from grandma. If you’re looking for a creamy refreshing dip, bursting with flavor and a lot of dill, you’ve found it! This vegetable dip pairs well with anything your vegi tray throws at it.

I inherited this recipe from my grandma, and I think it’s probably been served at every family get together for my entire life. She would tell you that you can only make it the correct way by using Hellman’s Mayonnaise, and although I have made it with other brands, I usually try to keep the “good stuff” on hand just because of her.  

It’s a cool creamy dip, that I often make in the summer with fresh dill, parsley, or green onion from my garden.  Dried herbs will suit just fine, but if you’re looking to jazz it up, this is a great recipe to try incorporating your own homegrown herbs and spices.

Although, I labeled this one as a vegetable dip, we have served it with chicken or turkey, chips, and countless other foods, because one thing I’ve learned as a mother is this: If you can make something a dip, or serve it with a dip, kids are exponentially more likely to eat it without complaining. Likewise, try using it in place of ranch dressing with your favorite snacks and meals.

One thing about this recipe that makes it unique is the Beau Monde seasoning.  I’ve only ever seen it available in the “Spice Island” brand, and it’s a salt based seasoning blend, so take that into consideration if you are trying to limit salt. Grandma’s Sour Cream Dill Dip

INGREDIENTS

8 oz Mayonnaise
8 oz Sour Cream
1 Tbsp. Beau Monde Seasoning 
1 Tbsp. Dill Weed
​1 Tbsp. Parsley
​1 Tbsp. Minced Onion or Onion Powder

DIRECTIONS

Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl.

Cover and chill overnight for best flavor. 

Serve with fresh vegetables.
