This felt doll baby pattern is the perfect new addition to your felt doll family. Add a bundle of joy to your felt doll collection!
My youngest daughter is all about making everything into families. I’m pretty sure every stuffed animal and doll we own is married, and the first thing she does when playing felt dolls is organize them into family units. A baby was the obvious next choice for my growing felt doll pattern collection.
Simple and small this pattern can easily be made from scraps in a very short amount of time. Try adding bows or headbands to baby, or decorative stitching, for extra embellishments. The baby bundle blanket and skin tone can be made in any color to represent a specific gender or ethnicity.

Directions:
Step One
Begin by printing off the felt doll baby pattern PDF and cutting out the paper pattern pieces.
Use the paper pattern pieces to cut out the felt pieces for your felt doll baby. The white will be used for the baby bundle body, and the skin tone for the face. However, feel free to use whatever colors you desire.
Step Two
First, we will assemble the front of the baby. This includes attaching the body bundle (swaddle) piece and the head to one of the body bundles (ovals). Begin by sewing the top body bundle piece onto one of the baby body bundles using white floss.
Note: I typically use two strands of floss for most of my designs. The more strands the more distinct the stitching will be. This is especially notable if you want to create a feature that will stand out, like decorative stitching or facial features.
Next, sew the head onto the top (upper) portion of the same baby body bundle using a coordinating color floss (tan). Leave a littles space around the head to represent a swaddle. This also gives room to add a bow or headband, even hair, if you desire.
Step Three
Use a contrasting color to sew eyes and a mouth onto your baby. I chose to use a contrasting brown, and sew sleeping eyes with a smile. However, you could do open eyes, or a soft pink mouth. Maybe try a crying or cooing face. This is your opportunity to make the felt doll baby your own.
Step Four
After the felt doll baby face is complete, stack the finished pieces (the body bundle and face assembly that you just made) on top of the final baby blanket bundle (oval) to create a sandwich with all the mechanics of your design inside (hide the strings and ends). Use white embroidery floss to sew around the entire oval and tied off to finish the design.
Finally, trim any ends as necessary, and you now have a felt doll baby!
